Steven Davis is hoping his goal against St Mirren will be the first of many after ending a long wait to open his account for the season.
The Rangers midfielder has spoken frequently in recent weeks of his desire to add goals to his game, having brought his tally to eight last term.
He squandered the opportunity to get off the mark when he missed from the penalty spot against Unirea Urziceni in the Champions League, before seeing a goal against Dundee United wiped from the records when the game was abandoned.
But the Northern Ireland international took just two minutes to set the ball rolling on a 2-0 win over Saints on Wednesday night and is now hoping to push on from there.
He said: "It's been very frustrating for me not to score and, the longer it goes on, the more frustrating it gets.
"I was maybe a bit lucky with the finish but that's the sort of thing I need to kick-start things and hopefully I get a few more between now and the end of the season and help the team.
"Everybody wants to improve their game and I'm no different. I'm happy enough with my form but there are still things that I need to work on."
International team-mate Kyle Lafferty was the provider for the goal and Davis admits having sympathy for the striker, who has so far failed to grab his chance in the absence of injured top goalscorer Kris Boyd.
He said: "You need a bit of luck sometimes, maybe the ball going in off your shin or even your backside.
"Kyle is working hard and sometimes that can go against you when you try to put a bit too much into the games.
"Somtimes you need to try and let yourself relax and let your quality shine through.
"I think that's what Kyle maybe needs to do."
Boyd netted 19 goals - and smashed Henrik Larsson's Clydesdale Bank Premier League record - before being forced to undergo a hernia operation this month.
And, as the striker continues his recovery from the surgery, Davis admits everyone else must help fill the void and ensure the goal do not dry up.
He said: "When Boydy plays, he is always going to score the majority of the goals for the team throughout the season.
"There are not many better finishers around. He guarantees you 20 or 30 goals a season and I don't think there is really anyone else around who does.
"He is a big player for us and, with him out of the side, we need the other players to chip in."
