The 23-year-old player has previously been on the books of hometown Club Derry City, Sligo Rovers, Finn Harps and York City and also achieved Under 19 international recognition with the Republic of Ireland.

He was on target twice against the Reds last season, netting an eye-catching strike for the Bannsiders in an Irish Cup Fifth Round draw at Solitude before registering from the penalty spot when the sides renewed acquaintances in a replay the following week.

Commenting on the deal, Reds manager Tommy Breslin said: "David is a player I've admired for quite some time and am looking forward to working alongside him.

"Although he's only been playing in the Irish League for a short space of time, he has already demonstrated how effective he can be in the Premiership and, of course, was no stranger to finding the net in the League of Ireland before that.

"I believe he will prove an effective addition to our squad and I'm sure our supporters can't wait to see him in a Cliftonville shirt."

Chairman Gerard Lawlor added: "We're very pleased to have completed the signing of such a talented player and I know David is equally thrilled to be here.

"I must place on record my sincere thanks to Coleraine Football Club for their assistance in concluding the transfer and commend their Chairman, Colin McKendry, for his professional conduct throughout the process.

"He did not want to lose David and worked very hard to keep him, but we were similarly determined to bring him to Solitude and are delighted to have done so."
