Down midfielder Dan Gordon has revealed that he is to take an indefinite break from inter-county football.
The Loughinisland man is reported to have cited a lack of hunger for his decision to step away from the Down panel.
Gordon has been a regular face in the Mourne midfield since making his senior debut in 2001, and captained the side which won the Dr McKenna Cup in 2008.
Longstone's Ambrose Rogers was named as captain for the 2010 campaign.
The 26-year-old was absent from the Down team which saw off Kieran McGeeney's Kildare in impressive fashion in Sunday's NFL Division Two opener.
Gordon's hiatus is not expected to be permanent, with manager James McCartan saying he expects him to return to the county panel "sooner rather than later".
