She amounted eight penalty points in the first round with a time of 117 seconds on Monday.
However she managed to progress after a much improved second run of 108.99, during which she hit one gate.
"I'm very happy to go to the start line again," said Craig.
"It's such an exciting course to paddle and just sitting there at the start, the crowds are amazing and the water is amazing and it's a once in a lifetime opportunity so I'm glad to into the semi final."
The semi finals take place on Thursday.
