Coleraine 2 - 0 Dungannon Swifts
The Bannsiders ace scored in Tuesday's semi-final success against Dungannon Swifts at the Oval - venue for his new career as of next summer.
Patterson scored his 26th goal of the season - a goal credited to him in the North West Cup final has been awarded to Marc Mukendi - under the watchful eye of Northern Ireland boss Nigel Worthington.
Worthington will shortly announce his squad for the friendly in Albania on March 3 and the ex-FC United centre-forward is certainly in his thoughts.
"Rory did alright in the first half and was sharp enough to get his goal. It was good to see him in the flesh after all the reports and we will continue to monitor him," said Worthington.
It was a scrappy game in freezing conditions and in the end it was a comfortable win for David Platt's men.
Patterson had a chance to break the deadlock on 21 minutes when he raced clear but 'keeper Alvin Rouse made a fine stop.
But you can't keep a good man down and just three minutes later the Strabane man did what he does best and Worthington must have been impressed.

Gareth Harkin and Stephen Carson combined well down the left and when Harkin whipped a cross into the box, Patterson nipped in front of his marker to cleverly flick home at the near post.
Dungannon knocked the ball about well without posing much threat but they almost levelled on 32 minutes.
Michael Ward sent Marc McCann clear. The winger didn't make proper contact but his shot still beat Davy O'Hare but rebounded off the post and the ball was cleared.
Dixie Robinson's outfit had a good chance two minutes after the restart when Timmy Adamson delivered an inviting cross which Ward headed wide.
Coleraine put themselves in the driving seat on the hour mark when they were gifted a second goal.
There appeared little threat as Mukendi hit a hopeful long ball out of defence but Fergal McAliskey and Rouse left the ball for each other and Carson nipped in to head into an empty net.
It was plain sailing after that as Swifts rarely looked like getting back into the tie and Coleraine eased into next month's decider which is expected to take part at Windsor Park.
The final will give proud manager Platt a chance to win his first silverware for the club - and emulate uncle Jim who won the trophy in its previous League Cup guise back in the 80's.
