Coleraine missed out on the opportunity to move up to fourth place in the Carling Premiership as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Institute at The Showgrounds.
Coleraine 1-1 Institute
The Bannsiders, who were without talismanic striker Rory Patterson, who is on international duty in Albania, squandered numerous chances as they dominated the opening 45 minutes.
The home side went in front on 14 minutes through Darren Boyce after some good work by Michael Hegarty. The midfielder's cross picked out Boyce at the back post and he side stepped Ruairi Boyle's challenge before smashing the ball past Gavin Cullen.
Steven Lowry saw his effort saved by Cullen minutes later before Declan Divin brought a good save out of Davey O'Hare at the other end.
Richard Gibson wasted two good opportunities for Coleraine just before half time as he struck the post and fired over in quick succession.
Whatever 'Stute boss John Gregg said at half-time seemed to do the trick as they started on the front foot and drew level on 53 minutes.
Kevin Ramsey held the ball up before teeing up fellow strike partner, Joe McCready, whose 25-yard curling shot flew past a full stretched O'Hare and into the net.
Substitute Sammy Morrow went close to scoring on his home debut with 19 minutes left, but his long range free kick just whistled past the upright.
Both sides had chances to win it right at the death. Paul Lowry watched in agony as his lob over O'Hare floated wide of the target.
And Jody Tolan could only shoot straight at Cullen after he had robbed David Ogilby.
