In the rearranged league game, Coleraine picked up a vital 2-0 win at the Co Tyrone venue.
David McDaid fired the Bannsiders ahead on 14 minutes, latching onto a mistake by Dermot McCaffrey and his shot proving too much for keeper Buchannan.
Dungannon felt they had strong claims for a penalty when Joe McNeill appeared to handle the ball, but referee Evan Boyce waved away their strong protests.
McDaid had a great chance to grab his second of the night when unmarked at the back post, but he shot wide after connecting with a cross by Paul Owens.
Coleraine sealed three precious points in added time when McDaid turned provider for John Watt who made no mistake.
The victory puts ninth place Coleraine to within five points of Dungannon in the Premiership and four points ahead of Warrenpoint, who have two games in hand.
