Distillery lagged behind at Solitude when Joe Gormley put the ball in the back of the net for his side's first goal in the 16th minute.
But throughout the first half the reds were challenged by Tim McCann's side, which meant there was no further scoring during those 45 minutes.
However, the second half was more of the same for the reds who saw goal after goal, starting with Liam Boyce in the 72nd minute.
Just eight minutes later that was followed up by Barry Johnston and in the 89th minute James Knowles scored a fourth goal for Tommy Breslin's side.
The 4-0 scoreline leaves Cliftonville seven points clear at the top of the table.
