Ciaran Caldwell gave the Reds the lead inside the first 15 minutes, and just six minutes later it was 2-0 with Liam Boyce netting on 21 minutes.
It got worse for Linfield in the second half - William Murphy scored an own goal and then Mark McAllister was sent off.
Andy Waterworth scored a 92nd minute winner for Glentoran as they beat Dungannon Swifts 2-1 and they fought back from behind.
Ballymena United defeated Crusaders 2-1 - James Costello with the winner on 82 minutes after Crusaders had led in the first half.
There were a glut of goals in the final 12 minutes at Mourneview Park - Glenavon defeated Donegal Celtic 4-2.
Lisburn Distillery were denied by an 86th minute goal from Coleraine as the match finished 1-1, but the Whites are off the bottom.
Philip Simpson scored their opener but Stephen Lowry levelled.
Elsewhere, Donegal Celtic fell to the bottom after losing 4-2 to Glenavon.
Gary Hamilton scored for Glenavon with McGrory, Lindsay and Bennett also scoring. McAlister and Paul McVeigh replied for DC.
Portadown defeated Ballinamallard United 2-1.
Andy Crawford scored for United but the Ports took the points thanks to goals from Mark Patton and Sean Mackle.
