Defending champions Tyrone will be without Colm Cavanagh for the duration of their McKenna Cup campaign after the Moy midfielder broke his wrist.

The Red Hands begin their defence of the trophy on Sunday when they play Derry at Celtic Park in a repeat of last year's final.

Manager Mickey Harte has called up a dozen new players into his panel for the tournament which the counties traditionally use as preparation for the National League.

Another injury for Tyrone. The excuses are starting earlier this year as its usually mid January before the propaganda begins.
