Belfast boxer Brian Magee has won the vacant super middleweight European championship title in Aarhus, Denmark.
He defeated local favourite Mads Larsen to lift the title when the referee stopped the fight 15 seconds into the seventh round.
Magee made a cautious start to the fight but started to get on top in the fourth round, as he hurt Larsen with a body shot and then gradually picked up the pace.
He had Larsen on the canvas in the fifth and on two occasions in the sixth.
When the Dane hit the canvas at the start of the seventh round the fight was stopped.
Winning the European title means Magee has now held British, European and IBO World titles during his career.
Before the match, a confident Magee told UTV that the support of the people of Belfast had been fantastic.
"All year long, any nights that I have been out, people have been coming up to me wishing me well, wishing the best for me," he told UTV.
"You are only as good as your last fight, but with the work that I have put in, I deserve to win it."
Magee pocketed £130,000 for the bout, the biggest pay day of his professional career, but the result is far more important to the Belfast fighter whose ambition is to go back in the top five in the world.
