Magee has said that the support of people in Belfast will inspire him as he fights for the title.
"All year long, any nights that I have been out, people have been coming up to me wishing me well, wishing the best for me," he told UTV.
"I don't know all their names but I know their faces. If I win the title, it's for them."
A former IBO World Champion, Magee has won 32 of his 36 bouts.
His 36-year-old opponent however, has won an impressive 51 of his 53 fights to date and has held World IBO, WBF and European Super Middleweight belts.
"He's a world class operator. But we're pretty similar, we've had the last nine to eleven months out so it's going to be a good 50/50 fight," he said.
Magee will pocket £130,000 for the bout, the biggest pay day of his professional career, but the result is more important to the Lisburn fighter.
"It's a fantastic opportunity for me. I want to be back in the top five in the world."
Magee said his training at St Agnes' gym in Belfast had "gone well".
"I don't have a doubt in my head about my preparations," he said.
"You are only as good as your last fight, but with the work that I have put in, I deserve to win it."
