Bowe suffered significant lateral ligament damage to his right knee in the closing stages of Ulster's defeat to Northampton last weekend.

He has undergone surgery but faces four months on the sidelines.

The loss to Saints at Ravenhill brought Ulster's unbeaten start to the season to an end, however players have vowed to bounce back as they face Leinster in the Pro 12 on Friday.

The club has made four changes for the interprovincial derby.

After being on the bench for the recent defeat to Northampton, Luke Marshall, Neil McComb, Robbie Diack and Craig Gilroy have all been promoted to the first team.
