In a night of action live from the Waterfront Brawl, there were big wins for the rising stars of Belfast's boxing scene - including European titles for Marc McCullough and defending champ Jamie Conlon.

The vacant WBO European Featherweight belt was up for grabs when Marc McCullough faced his toughest challenge to date, taking on undefeated Slovak Martin Parlagi on Friday night.

Despite a bloody battle, the fight went the distance and, after 10 rounds, McCullough was unanimously declared the victor on points.

"Feels brilliant now it's over," he told UTV Sport's Ruth Gorman at ringside.

"It was a real tough fight!"

In the co-headline bout, Jamie Conlan defended his recent WBO European Super-Flyweight belt against Hungary's Gabor Molnar.

Molnar hit the mat in the third round, before a build-up of shots put an end to his efforts just seconds later.

I think that should probably be Jamie into the WBO top 10 - he can fight for a world title soon

And Conlan confessed afterwards that he had almost forgotten to take the belt along - because he was so determined no one was taking it off him.

"I knew it was coming," he added of his win. "I feel great!"

Earlier, Tyrone's Conrad Cummings put Hungarian Lajos Munkacsi on the floor just 55 seconds into round two, with the referee calling a halt to the bout.

"I was just starting to find my rhythm," Cummings told Ruth Gorman.

And in the first of top four main fights, Limerick's Willie Casey defeated Poland's Krzystof Rogowski on points over six rounds.

"He just kept coming and coming," Casey said of his opponent, pleased to get in the ring after a period of inactivity.

"If I could have put him away, I would."

Conall Carmichael had earlier defeated Uganda's Moses Matovu over four rounds in an international Cruiserweight contest.
