Belfast Giants have announced the signing of US-born forward Josh Prudden.
The skilled play-maker comes to Europe from the East Coast Hockey League, where he played for the Las Vegas Wranglers - scoring 36 points in 68 games last season.
Prior to 2009/10, Prudden played regularly in the AHL and ECHL, racking up 31 points in 56 games for the Worchester Sharks in the 06/07 season.
Head Coach Doug Christiansen has tried to recruit Prudden the last two years, as did former Giants coach, Steve Thornton.
Commenting on the latest addition to his roster, Christiansen said: "Josh is a very skilled centre. He is a player who makes his teammates better.
"I am looking for him to be someone who can distribute the puck to players who can score goals. He will be a key player on our power play."
He added: "Josh is a proven leader - last season he was player assistant coach and captain in Las Vegas."
Prudden is coming off a season where he had a couple injuries but they are now fully healed and he is looking to making an impact.
Giants General Manager Todd Kelman added: "I am delighted that we have finally recruited Josh to Belfast - he will be a key part of our special teams this season and will undoubtedly enhance our goal scoring ability.
"Josh will be enrolling on our MBA programme with the University of Ulster which has proven so successful in recent seasons."
Speaking from the US, Prudden said: "I am delighted to be coming to Europe and especially to Belfast.
"I have heard great things about the Belfast Giants and the city of Belfast and am excited to be joining the team in the season that the Boston Bruins are coming to town. I am looking forward to being part of a winning team next season."
