The Belfast Giants beat the Steelers to claim top spot in the top spot in the Challenge Cup standings
The Giants beat bitter rivals the Sheffield Steelers 4-2 in the Elite League.

Evan Cheverie gave the home fans reason to cheer first as he put them ahead at the end of the opening period, but the Steelers soon hit back.

The Giants then all but guaranteed the three points with three unanswered goals.

First from Tim Cook, then from Brandon Benedict and a third from Colin Shields.

The visitors scored a consolation goal in the final minute.

The Giants are back in action on Saturday when they will take on the Cardiff Devils in Belfast.
