The 24-year-old will take on the role of backup netminder behind Stephen Murphy for the second consecutive year after a standout season with the Invicta Dynamo in 2010/11.
Dickson appeared in 10 regular season games and one play-off game last year, playing his part in the Elite League Championship season for the Giants.
Giants Head Coach Doug Christiansen commented on the return of Andrew Dickson.
"Dickson is a young and improving goaltender. He wants to get better and has a great work ethic every single day in training or in games. He was one of the most popular players on the team last season and always brought positive energy to the rink.
"He improved tremendously over the course of the season and I expect that to continue. He did a great job down the stretch as we tried to give Stephen Murphy a bit of a rest and I would expect him to play more minutes this season."
Dickson joins Murphy, Craig Peacock, Mark Garside, Graeme Walton and Darryl Lloyd as returnees from last season's Elite League Championship squad who have already signed back with the Giants to defend their title.
Dickson is the fourth netminder from Northern Ireland to play for the Giants, following in the footsteps of Chris McGimpsey, Hugh Smith and Adam Cree, but he is the first to hoist the Elite League Championship Trophy, something he would love to do again next season.
"I know Doug will put together another title contending team and I am just happy to be a part of the Giants again. I am looking forward to working with Murph again this season and to giving the fans another season filled with the potential of more titles to celebrate," added Dickson.
