Armagh GAA trio Andy Mallon, Brendan Donaghy and Ciaran Toner have failed to get their one-game bans over-turned by the Central Appeals Committee.

The players were all suspended following a pre-game brawl at their Ulster Championship clash against Cavan earlier this month.

Both counties were also fined €5,000 after the incident.

The ban being upheld means that the players will still miss out on Saturday night's semi-final against Monaghan.

Mallon, Donaghy and Toner can still make further pleas to the Disputes Resolution Authority.

But a Croke Park statement said that the discipline breaches had been proven.

Armagh are also likely to be without Caolan Rafferty for the Monaghan tie, after he suffered a suspected broken hand in training last week.

Without the suspensions i think armagh may well have come out in top against monaghan, but they need to address the discipline issues they still have before they can win again
