The Orchard County registered the opening score but Laois's midfield won a series of kick outs and after eight minutes had four points while Armagh remained on one.

But Armagh picked up the pace and soon took the lead 0-6 to 0-4 and despite a goal for Laois right before the break, they managed to keep the lead at half-time by three points 0-12 to 1-6.

Goals in the second half from man of the match Stefan Campbell in the 52nd minute and Ethan Rafferty just minutes before full-time secured the victory and boosted promotion hopes for the team.
