The incident happened at the approach to Metropole during the Superstock race at about 3.30pm.

Andrews was airlifted to the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast where he is receiving treatment for injuries which have been described as critical.

Saturday's incident comes after Frenchman Franck Petricola had to be airlifted from the North Coast after the collision during the Superstock practice session earlier this week.

He was also in a critical condition and has been receiving treatment at the RVH.
