Women tied up during armed burglary

Two women have been treated for shock after they were tied up by an armed and masked gang who raided their Co Antrim home.

Five masked men broke into the house in the Hopefield Gardens area of Portrush at around 10pm on Thursday.

They tied up the two female occupants while they ransacked the house.

The women were not physically injured in the incident, but were taken to hospital and treated for shock.

It is not known if anything was taken in the burglary.

The police have appealed for information.
