Woman's jaw broken in Derry attack

A 45-year-old woman has had her jaw broken in an attack in Londonderry.

Police were flagged down by three members of the public in the Malvern Terrace area of the city at around 5pm on Saturday.

A 47-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

He was later released pending further enquiries.

Police are keen to get in touch with the three members of the public who alerted them to the attack.

They, and anyone who may have information about the incident, should contact police on the non-emergency number 101.

breaking someones jaw is not aoabh that is the lowest charge the police can charge someone for an assault.
