The body of the 49-year-old was found in the Cathedral Quarter area of the city on Friday.
A post mortem examination has now been carried out.
In a statement on Saturday the PSNI said: "Police no longer consider the death suspicious.
"The cause of death has not yet been established and police will continue to investigate this alongside the coroner's office."
Police and forensic officers attended the scene of the discovery in Hill Street, south Belfast.
The woman's body was found in Cooper's Court building, owned by Helm Housing Association.
