A disabled woman, whose car was targeted in a shooting in Newtownabbey, has said she plans to leave her home.

Three loud bangs in the Lacken Walk area on the Cloughfern estate reported to police at around 11.05pm on Sunday.

It was found that three shots had been fired at the windscreen of a parked car belonging to Eleanor Kinkaid.

She has described her car as a "lifeline" and believes loyalist paramilitaries are behind the attack.

Ms Kinkaid said she doesn't know why she is being targeted but plans to leave because of ongoing intimidation.

"I can't defend myself, I can't stand in front of a bullet to stop it. So I just have to get out. It's obviously what they want. They want me out of the house. I'll go, I've had enough," she told UTV.

Police said a motive for the attack is yet to be established and anyone with any information is asked to contact them at Newtownabbey Police Station on the non-emergency number 101 or anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
