Woman rescued from house fire
Firefighters have saved the life of a woman who got trapped in a house fire in north Belfast.

The blaze broke out just before 5am on the Whitewell Road.

The woman was found slumped on a chair in her living room after a neighbour raised the alarm.

Fire officer Mark Beresford, who was at the scene, said firefighters gave vital first aid to the woman.

"She was actually unconscious and not breathing when we found her."

"It appears the fire had been burning for some time and had gone undetected."
