A woman arrested in connection with the sectarian murder of a man and the attempted murder of his friend in Coleraine has been released pending a report to the PPS.

Kevin McDaid, 49, was beaten to death by a gang of up to 15 loyalists after the climax of the Scottish Premier League football season on May 24.

His neighbour Damian Fleming was also critically injured after being attacked by the same gang.

A 20 year-old man who was detained in the Coleraine area is still being questioned.

Nine men remain in custody charged with murder, attempted murder and affray in connection to the fatal assault in the mainly Catholic area.
