Woman hit by lorry dies in Co Monaghan

A woman in her 50s has died after she was struck by a lorry in Co Monaghan.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene in Main Street, Castleblayney at around 12.50pm on Wednesday.
Her body was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda.
The driver of the lorry was not injured.
Main Street was closed while forensic officers carried out their investigation.
Any witnesses are asked to contact the gardaí.
