The 49-year-old was admitted to hospital in a critical condition at about 7.30pm on Tuesday after the incident unfolded at a property in the Glenavy Road area of the city.

On Thursday morning, police confirmed that she had passed away.

A 48-year-old man was also given treatment for burns, but his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Police are continuing to work to establish exactly what happened.

Anyone with further information, or who was in the area at the time, has been asked to contact them on the non-emergency number 101.
