Police are investigating after a woman and three children were tied up during a robbery in Moneymore.

Two men, one armed with a baseball bat, were behind the ordeal which took place in the Ballymulligan Road area shortly after 3.40pm on Monday.

They made off with an undisclosed sum of cash.

No-one was hurt during the incident, but the woman and children were left badly shaken.

Anyone with information is asked to contact officers in Cookstown.

Police are particularly keen to hear from anyone who spotted a red Vauxhall Corsa or blue Peugeot acting suspiciously in the area.

Police in Moneymore have also appealed for information following a separate burglary in the Woodvale Crescent area.

The house was ransacked by three men in their early 20s and wearing balaclavas and dark clothing.

One man kept the occupants of the house - a man and a woman - in one room, while the other two raided the property.

The men left after taking a handbag containing a sum of cash.
