Woman and child rescued from fire

A 28-year-old woman and three-year-old child have been rescued from a house fire in Warrenpoint, Co Down.

They were upstairs in the Summerhill property when the blaze took hold at 2.35pm on Saturday.
Six fire fighters entered the heavily smoke logged building wearing breathing apparatus and helped the woman and child out.
Both received first aid at the scene and were taken to hospital by ambulance.
The NI Fire and Rescue Service described the fire as "well developed" on arrival and added that it had started in the kitchen. Crews from Warrenpoint and Newry attended.
The incident was brought under control at 3.18pm.
