Police have arrested a 24-year-old man following a cash-in-transit robbery in west Belfast on Saturday.

A man wielding a knife approached a vehicle outside a business premises on the Falls Road before making off with a cash box, shortly before 1pm.

According to the Police, the female driver of the cash van was badly shaken but uninjured in the incident and the cash box was recovered a short time later.

The man was apprehended at the back of Blackstaff Mill and a green vehicle believed to be the getaway car was also recovered at the scene.

The Police have appealed for anyone who witnessed the robbery to contact them.
