A controlled explosion has been carried out on a suspicious object in west Belfast.

The item was found in the Divis Street area on Friday evening.

A PSNI spokeswoman said a number of houses were evacuated during the alert.

The area was sealed off for a time.

Army bomb experts, who were tasked to the scene, examined the object and declared it a hoax.

The security alert is over.

Thers is never going to be any sanity for anybody in that part of ireland while this kind of stuff is going on. The people need a break its just to must and for what.
