Well, apparently it's the PSNI water cannon that turns up to lend a hand.

Three officers took getting on top of the flood situation a little too seriously on Wednesday, when they found themselves having to climb onto the roof of their vehicle to escape the rising water near Finaghy.

With the officers obviously safe out of harm's way, some onlookers did have a chuckle at their expense.

"Here they come to save the day!" those who captured the moment on camera laughed.

It was the PSNI who rode to the rescue in the end though, with the water cannon team arriving to tow their colleagues' stricken vehicle out of the deeper than expected 'puddle'.

All in all, it should certainly have made for an interesting distress call ...

Just reading this funny story about the cops on top of the landrover,But on a serious side there must be all sorts of bacteria in that water.Which brings to my next point, they brought in a water cannon truck to tow the jeep out of the water, and save thier mates. But what they probably failed to mention, is that they filled the water cannon full of that healty sterile water for the roiters in case there is any trouble over the marching season, waste not want not. lol.

I can fully understand the heartache this causing for the people of Belfast as my home has also been flooded. We too where promised help but at the end of the day this is of very little help. If the powers that be would stop putting fish life etc above the value of human life and clean and maintain rivers properly then these situations would be less frequent. As I have stated before it is a basic human right to feel safe in your own home and the powers that be are denying us this by negectling our pleas to to maintain water ways properly. We are second class citizens in our own homes and country.
