'Wartime object' found in Carrick garden

Police have removed what is believed to be an old wartime bomb from a residential garden in Carrickfergus, Co Antrim.

It was discovered in the Prospect Grove area of the Co Antrim town on Sunday.
A security alert was declared and a number of homes were evacuated while army bomb squad officers carried out tests on the suspicious device.
It has now been removed for further examinations.
Police said: "ATO attended and took away what is thought to be an old wartime type object for further examination."
All residents have been allowed to return back to their homes.
