A 36-year-old man was detained on Monday morning and a 31-year-old was arrested in the afternoon, both under the Terrorism Act, in the Co Antrim town.

They were taken to Antrim Serious Crime Suite for questioning before their release on Monday night.

It follows after another man, also aged 36, was arrested on Sunday. He has since been released by police unconditionally.

A 35-year-old man was also questioned on Saturday and released unconditionally on Sunday.

The PSNI has blamed the attacks in Larne on the south-east Antrim UDA.

Crowds of up to 100 people were involved in disorder in the Knockdhu Park and Ferris Avenue areas.

They smashed the homes of two families and also damaged cars. A man was taken to hospital after he was assaulted by the gang.

Police reported that they were also attacked at the scene and one officer required hospital treatment after suffering a head injury.

To date, police have arrested 12 people and charged one man in connection with the disorder.
