Two men have been shot in paramilitary-style attacks in Northern Ireland.

The separate shootings took place in Belfast and Londonderry on Wednesday night.

A 28-year-old man was shot in both knees and an ankle when he was abducted by four masked men in the Poleglass area of west Belfast at around 9.30pm on Wednesday.

He was bundled into a car as he walked past St Luke's Church and driven to a lane in the Colin Mill area, where he was shot.

In Derry, a 26-year-old man sustained a number of injuries to his legs when four masked men forced their way into a house in the Creggan area at around 9.30pm and shot him.

Three women who were in the house at the time were uninjured.
