The pair - aged 25 and 55 - had been arrested in west Belfast on Tuesday.
It followed the discovery of a suspected gun at Gortnamona Way.
The two men will face charges of possession of a firearm in suspicious circumstances when they appear before Belfast Magistrates Court on Friday.
The arrests were made by officers from the PSNI's Serious Crime Branch. A spokesperson said the recovered weapon has been sent for examination.
Another man aged 39, who was detained on Wednesday, is still being questioned.
