Tactical Crime Unit officers led a planned search at licensed premises in the town on Saturday shortly after 11.30pm.
A number of packets were recovered at the scene and have been sent away for further expert analysis.
The two men were later bailed pending further enquiries.
A police spokesman said: "This was an intelligence led operation aimed at tackling the supply of illegal drugs in the area with the primary aim of protecting our young people from the risk associated with drugs.
"The operation was also organised in response to concerns from the local community in respect of this activity."
