This man's partner is a close relative of mine. They are both very hard-working people. It is shocking that this can take place in broad daylight. It seems to me that the police and the courts do not take this kind of crime as seriously as they should. Anyone convicted of this crime will undoubtedly get just a slap on the wrist. Which just gives the nod to others to go out and do the same thing.

i hope these people are locked up for a long time, they offer society nothing but pure hatred and only add to the bad image this country has been portrayed as having recently, once harsh and long sentences are imposed it will only be then that these sort off attacks will end, hopefully a 2-3 year custodial term will have them think the next time they feel brave and face 1 man regardless off race.

Arrests are made in relation to a racially motivated assault in Belfast... well done to the Police. Now, we need to see the Public Prosecution Service step up and do the right thing. And if this does get before the Courts, will the Judiciary apply a sentence appropriate to the Crime so that becomes a deterrent for "like minded " persons . Sentences CAN deter !!!!
