The woman was not injured, but left traumatised by the ordeal.

Police alerted over the break-in stopped a car in the Newtownhamilton area soon after, arresting three men on suspicion of going equipped for theft.

On Tuesday, police confirmed that the trio, aged 16, 27 and 28, have been charged with going equipped for burglary.

The youngest and oldest of the trio were further charged with obstructing police.

The 27-year-old has been charged with driving while unfit and having no insurance.

They are due to appear at Newry Magistrates' Court on Tuesday morning.
