The searches took place in north and west Belfast and Lisburn on Thursday evening.

Two men, 30 and 32, were arrested after a car was stopped in the Old Brewery Lane, off the Glen Road, in west Belfast.

Around 50kgs of suspected class A drugs, thought to be used as a mixing agent, were found and seized.

A short time later, a 64-year-old man was arrested in the north Belfast area.

Searches were carried out at a house there and several items were seized.

A property was also searched in Lisburn, however, no items were removed.

The three men were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to supply class A controlled drug and encouraging or assisting offences.

One of the men, the 32-year-old, was charged on Friday afternoon with conspiracy to supply a class A controlled drug.

He is expected to appear before Belfast Magistrates' Court on Saturday.

The other two are currently assisting police with their enquiries.
