Weather-watcher Niamh O'Raw captured footage of one of the tornadoes on camera, as it passed over Sliabh Sneacht in Buncrana, Inishowen.
The funnel of cloud appeared to make "a quick touchdown" on the mountain at about 10.30am on Monday.
According to Met Éireann, more heavy and potentially thundery showers are expected throughout the evening - so the conditions which make such sightings more likely are set to continue into Tuesday.
Showers will still be possible later in the week, but the weather is expected to improve from Wednesday.
Throughout the week, heavy showers are likely at times in Northern Ireland - especially closest to the border, with the North Coast set to enjoy the best of any sunny spells.
