Teenager stabbed in west Belfast

A 17-year-old boy has been taken to hospital after he was stabbed in west Belfast.

The victim was confronted by a male armed with a knife at the front of his home in the Quadrant Place area at around 3pm on Thursday.A 51-year-old woman, who was also in the house at the time, came to the teenager's assistance and tried to shut the door on the male.She sustained a minor cut to her arm in the scuffle.It is understood the victim then chased the assailant and was stabbed a number of times outside the property.CHAR(13) + CHAR(10) CHAR(13) + CHAR(10)He was taken for hospital treatment to his injuries which are not thought to be life-threatening.CHAR(13) + CHAR(10) CHAR(13) + CHAR(10)Detectives at Woodbourne CID would like to speak to witnesses or anyone with information.
