West Belfast car crash victim named

Police, who named the teenager killed in the Sunday morning car crash in west Belfast, have arrested two men.

John Paul McShane was travelling in a red Peugeot 406 estate car when it crashed on Upper Springfield Road after 8am.The 19-year-old died at the scene.Councillor David Bell said: "This was a tragic accident in which a young man lost his life."The family are extremely upset and the community is devastated."The family have lost a beloved son and everyone in the community has had lots of positive things to say about him."The family need privacy right now and anyone with information should pass it on to the police."Two men, aged 20 and 21, have been arrested by police on suspicion of a number of motoring offences.Officers investigating the incident are keen to hear from witnesses and can be contacted on the non-emergency number 101.All roads in the area have been opened to traffic.
