A 15-year-old boy has died after he fell into the River Roe in Limavady, Co Londonderry.

Police and other emergency services were called to Roe Valley Park at around 4.30pm on Thursday.

The boy was airlifted by police helicopter to hospital where he later died.

"The teenager is believed to have drowned after falling into the River Roe," a PSNI spokesperson confirmed.

God bless the boys family & friends!! Terrible news after the quarry tragedy!! The environment minister needs to put out more warnings, children dont read newspapers so maybe moving them to tv will get the message across a bit better!!
