The girl was a passenger in a Renault Clio car when it left the Drumnaconagher Road at around 1.30pm on Tuesday.

The teenage male driver of the car was treated for shock at the scene but was uninjured, police said.

No other vehicle was involved in the incident.

The road was closed for a time after the crash, but has since been reopened.

Police have appealed for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact investigating officers on the non-emergency number 101.
