The boy was charged with two counts of taking part of an unlawful public procession and breach of bail.
The charges follow an arrest in the Peters Hill area of the city on Saturday afternoon by police officers from the Operation Dulcet team who are investigating offences linked with the ongoing flag protests across Northern Ireland.
As is normal procedure the charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
