The 16-year-old who cannot be identified because of his age, was on bail charged with breaking into the Soho book shop on Gresham Street in Belfast on 3 August.
He is accused of stealing 23 "pink panther tablets and 30 packets of herbal substances".
On Saturday, after telling the teenager to "take your hands out of your pockets young man," District Judge Harry McKibbin heard how the teenager's bail address had been revoked.
Having been told that he was being remanded into custody until this Wednesday, the teen shouted at his father: "You're bad daddy, I'm not talking to you no more."
