A teenager has been remanded in custody charged with raping and sexually abusing a 15-year-old schoolgirl.
Appearing in the dock of Belfast Magistrates Court on Saturday, Samuel Carson, 18, was charged with raping and sexually abusing the girl on dates between 1-3 March 2010.
Carson, from Hesketh Road in north Belfast, was also charged with making indecent images of a child on the same dates.
Detective Constable Steven Pilson told the court he believed he could connect Carson to the charges and objected to a bail application.
DC Pilson revealed the police case was that the girl had been "picked up" while wearing her school uniform and taken back to Carson's house where she was allegedly plied with "large quantities" of drink and drugs before being abused over three days.
He further claimed that the abuse was video recorded on mobile phones and outlined police fears that Carson would fail to comply with bail conditions and commit further offences.
Under cross-examination from solicitor Dennis Maloney, the officer confirmed another man had also been arrested on similar charges but had been released on police bail in the early hours of Friday morning.
DC Pilson confirmed that Carson had a completely clear criminal record but had breached bail terms in the recent past.
Refusing the bail application and remanding Carson into custody to appear again via videolink on Wednesday, District Judge Bernadette Kelly said "history has proven that he is incapable of abiding by conditions" but did tell him he had the right to appeal her decision to the High Court.
