The High Court heard details of the attack on Tuesday as a 16-year-old appeared charged in connection with the assault.
Three men in their 20s were injured in the assault in the Charles Street area of the town in August 2011.
One victim was stabbed in the arm and stomach while another suffered severed tendons in his hand. A third victim was also cut on the hand.
It is claimed the 16-year-old accused, who cannot be named because of his age, initially hit one of the victims with a baseball bat, but he is not accused of inflicting any of the knife wounds.
The teen is charged with attempted grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of an offensive weapon.
A prosecution barrister told the court: "The knife was a 12-inch serrated blade, commando-style knife."
The court heard the youth allegedly brought it back from Spain and gave it to an older suspect accused of carrying out the stabbings.
Mr Justice Treacy granted a bail variation which allows the teenager to return to stay in Lurgan. He is banned from making any contact with his co-accused or the victims.
The judge directed that the case should be reviewed again in two weeks time.
